Inspiration: Frameworq

My crafty peep Irina runs 2 awesome initiatives – Frameworq and FabCycle. Both focus on upcycling, diverting waste and rethinking junk.

I met Irina a few years ago at an Our Social Fabric (OSF) event. We were both sharing our upcycling chops as part of a fundraising event.

Irina hosts Textile Fix It / Clothing Repair Drop In events throughout Vancouver as part of Frameworq. They’ve become hugely popular since she walks you through repairing your clothes either by using one of her machines or hand stitching. Irina sets up her sewing machine, threads, needles and more then guides people through simple repair projects. You show up, bring your own project and fix it – plus meet lovely new BFFs.

This is Michelle. We go way back… I met her at the book launch for my crafty book ‘Raw Crafts‘. She kicked butt at the Textile Fix It / Clothing Repair Drop In. Check out her nifty sashiko stitching! You can turn a rip or tear into a thing of beauty with some swanky stitch work.

Irina is one of my super FAB peeps doing super FAB things!
